International/Grenadian model Tehera Charles will be representing Grenada at the 24th World Championship of Performing Arts to be held from the 24th July to the 2nd August 2020 at Long Beach California.
The world championship of performing arts is the only international talent and modelling competition of its kind annually held in or around Hollywood, the entertainment capital of the world. Similar to the Olympics only invited and qualified competitors called “world stars” represent their countries and compete each year in a fierce competition for the gold.
Tehera has been in the modelling and fashion industry for four years and has made great achievements during these years. She was named Caribbean Styles and Culture Model of December 2017 then was later awarded Caribbean Styles and Culture Print Model for the year 2018 when she went on to receive that award at Washington DC.
Tehera has had her photos published in 2017 I Fashion Magazine and also graced the stage of Vogue New York Fashion Week, Walk Fashion Show and DC Fashion Week. She continues to build and grow herself in the industry and hopes for more opportunities after participating in the world championship.
“It is always excitement and pleasure when one can go out in the world to represent their country especially in the art and modelling industry. How honoured I am to be representing my beautiful country Pure Grenada at the World Championship of Performing Arts,” said Tehera.
She has already begun preparing for this journey physically and mentally and is ready to represent and promote Grenada to the best of her ability with the help of the Minister of Culture and her team who will be working along with her to ensure she is fully prepared as the only Grenadian in this competition. The competition takes off with a nations parade to be held in Disneyland where all participating countries will showcase their customs and heritage. There will be three rounds of competition, 1st round medalist, 2nd round medalist and 3rd round selection of finalist. The competition is divided by age groups into junior and senior, Tehera will be competing in the senior category. Videos and picture updates will be given on the official world championship site and on Tehera’s social media pages fbTehera Charles and Instagram @modeltehera for persons who would like to follow the event and see updates on Tehera’s journey.
Tehera thanks the Grenadian public that has been supporting and encouraging her over the past years along her journey in the fashion industry and vows to make Grenada known at this World Championship
