The image of the Royal Grenada Police (RGPF) is once again under scrutiny as pressure mounts on the leadership to investigate one of their own on allegations of sexual assault.
According to information reaching the Grenada Informer, the officer in question, a corporal of police recently transferred from the Criminal Investigation Department was accused of sexually assaulting a female officer who was recently recruited into the force.
This newspaper learned the alleged incident, which took place on a police compound on the western side of the island is not the first such complaint made against that particular police officer who continues to represent the organization in their day to day operation.
Inside sources told our news desk that based on this most recent report, a number of female police officers with similar experiences have indicated that they are willing to come forward and speak out relating their experiences and encounters with that officer with the hope of putting this type of behavior to rest once and for all.
Three years ago a senior ranked officer, inspector Clevroy Antoine was the subject of a similar investigation. That matter is still before the court, yet to be resolved. Antoine however, was suspended pending the outcome of the court’s ruling.
At the time this article was penned, the officer in question was still a full-fledged member of the RGPF.
