As the Royal Grenada police force RGPF continue the horrible fight to eradicate the drug trade and the use of the illegal substance, they continue to uncover large quantity of the illicit substance throughout the island.
The village of Telescope in St Andrew came under the police radar in the wee hours of the morning last Monday and officers attached to the drug squad in a joint operation on the Big bay now a deserted beach, were able to successfully seize and confiscated two hundred and sixty eight pounds 268 lbs of the illicit substance cannabis, which carried a street value of six hundred and seven thousand eight hundred and twenty four dollars, $607, 824, 00
However during the operation one man was detained and he is assisting the officers in their investigation.
Meanwhile just over a week ago three men from Grenville was arrested and jointly charged with trafficking a control drug, the police was able to discover twenty three pounds, 23lbs of the illicit substance cannabis during the search of a house along the stretch of road from Grenville leading to the village of Telescope where two of the three men were residing.
The drug carried a street value of sixty one thousand two hundred and thirty-six dollars $61, 236, 00
The three men prison convict 36 year old Tyrone Bernard, a fisherman 38 year old Larry Branch a bus conductor and 69 year old Vernon Bissessar alias scalay a electrician, they were each granted bail to the sum of ten thousand dollars with one surety and are down to appear before the Grenville magistrate court April 27th.
In another operation in the village of Richmond in St Andrew just over a week ago the police was able to confiscated one hundred and thirty-three pounds 133lbs of Cannabis which carried a street value of three hundred and one thousand six hundred and forty-four dollars $301,644,00
One man was again detained during the operation and has been assisting the police in their investigations as to whether he has been arrested and charge is not known.
