The National Water and Sewage Authority has sought to give an explanation on the increase in water rates observed by many customers on their April bill.
MTV news understands that some customers have recorded an over 200% increase in their water bill.
In an interview Assistant Communication Officer at the Authority Wendy Chasteau said due to the absence of meter during the complete lockdown due to COVID 19, ustomers bills were estimated but since meter reading has recommenced, affected customers will see the adjustment on next month’s bill.
The authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused and assures the public that the issue is being worked on.
Meanwhile, Chasteau says customers can make payments via online banking platforms.
