Grenada On It’s Way To Recovery From COVID-19

Grenada now has four active cases of the COVID-19 disease on island.

The COVID-19 National Response Coordinator Dr George Mitchell on Wednesday 20th May, giving an update on the state of the COVID-19 virus in Grenada reported that Grenada now only has four (4) active cases. He said they have retested the remaining seven (7) cases out of which three (3) have confirmed to be negative and have been medically cleared.

Also, he stated Grenada has conducted 472 PCR tests and 2,524 rapid tests so far.

Dr Mitchell went on to state that the remaining cases are stable at the moment and are been monitored closely as they look forward to a speedy recovery.

He mentioned that as they battle through COVID-19 and even as Grenada opens up slowly, he reminds persons to always keep their guards up and remain very vigilant.

He went on to remind persons to continue to practice proper hygiene with frequent hand washing, to always wear their masks whenever in public and also to exercise physical distancing of at least 6 feet.

In ending his remarks, he declared “Together we can save lives, Together we can defeat COVID-19”.

To date Grenada has recorded no deaths due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this does not mean that Grenada is out of the woods in relationship to the virus but prevention is the keyword of the day.
