Speaking to our news desk on Monday Joseph said it is an honour to be so awarded,  however he admitted it was not an easy fight. Joseph said the exercise was challenging nevertheless he purposed his mind that he had to succeed despite the many disappointments apart from having to study late into the night given the difference in time, he had to finance the entire course as efforts to secure financial assistance from the government failed. He was told that they were unable to assist, this after pointing out the importance of such service to the department.

Responding to why he chose that field, Joseph said there is a definite need for such services in Grenada and the region, and having already studied law and document at a different level, he decided he should grab on to this opportunity to obtain his master’s degree in the field of handwriting and document examination.

His expertise, now a first for Grenada and the region, he said would go a long way in helping solve many document-related crimes in Grenada and the region. Over the years he said Grenada, like many of the other Caribbean islands, spend thousands annually searching for expertise in the more developed countries to solve such cases.

With his qualification, he said he can now fill that void hopefully at a more competitive price.
